Good Day Kapowsin Families!

I am writing to welcome you and your children into our school this year. This year we are very excited to welcome  Lindsay Stevens. She is a veteran teacher who is joining our 5th grade team, hailing from Roy Elementary. We also are welcoming Kaitlin Hillstead, who is a 3rd year teacher, joining us from Roy as well! Ms. Agnes KimDugan is doing a fabulous job as a 1st year music teacher, and myself, who has served as an elementary and secondary principal for the last seven years. Kendra Reeve, who is serving in our new ILC room, and Deborah Roice, a para in this space have done an excellent job launching our new program. Both Ms. Reeve and Ms. Roice have extensive experience! We also have Mr. Sean St. Clair, who is an experienced teacher from Clover Park School District teaching in our 4th grade.

As I learn about the building and students, I am eager to learn about our community as well! I aspire to be very accessible, and am always happy to meet with families, parents, and students. Please reach out if you are interested! I would be happy to sip tea and snack on cookies with you while learning about our community! So far, I have learned that our building has established, clear, and well maintained systems that allow for our day to run smoothly. We also have a building filled with staff who deeply care for our students, and students who aspire every day to act with kindness. I have enjoyed getting to know your children, the staff, and the building, and look forward to a year of continued learning, as I learn about the needs and history of this space.

I want to thank you all for entrusting your children to us each day, and for the light and energy they bring with them into our building!

In Kind Regards,

Jennifer Vasilez
